Lifetime or Season?

A friend once told me that some people are here for a season and some people are here for life. It's hard to tell sometimes. But there are lots of things to look for:

1) Can you share your deepest secrets and trust that they will not exploit you or use it against you later in life?
2) If you need that person, really need them. Are they there for you?
3) Are they around you when you've got nothing but the shirt on your back to offer?
4) Can they sense if you're hurt and also try to comfort you?
5) Do they celebrate you or just tolerate you?

If the answers do not add up to an astounding Yes, to all, then you may have this person in your life for just a season. They are there to serve their purpose and then it's time for you to move on.

Professionalism

What's on my mind is a little sticky icky subject called...responding to emails, responding to numerous messages/texts/chats/, writing back, calling to confirm, calling to cancel 1 week in advance, letting me know you are on your way, letting me know you are going to be late, calling me to tell me the bad news, emailing me back to let me know you'd like to work with me or not and/or otherwise known as being professional.

This is one major pet peeve I have. I can say that many relationships both personal and business wise have been severed (on my part) due to this one factor...And that is unprofessional people. It causes me to think differently about you. And I don't like that feeling. It causes me to lose trust in you. It makes me angry. And it's annoying.

As harsh as this may sound, it's really not that easy for me to end things with people. I will try many times and ask very politely or even wait for you to get back to me because you are so "busy"...But enough is enough.

I'd like to think I'm a humble person who doesn't try to be anyone but who God made me to be. And being open and honest is something I strive to do. But once someone shows me that they do not value me or my time then I really have no use to for that individual. So I move on and continue with my life.

This is directed at no one and at the same time to everyone...but as much as I expect from people, I promise that if you ever work with me or get to know me, you will know how passionate and serious I am about my work and my time. So please I ask nicely, don't waste it. Have common courtesy and be professional.

And thank you to the people who are good to me ;-) Of course I am not talking about you. Or maybe I am :-O

Baltimore Fashion Week

So I guess I am putting myself out there again...yikes! I am going to try to see if I can get into the show as a Makeup Artist. I think this would do wonders for my career and not to mention provides lots of opportunities for networking.

I have worked so hard and come such a long way, I really want to make this audition. So I hope that the Lead MUA is able to meet with me and I really hope she likes me. With God's will I will be there and I truly believe if it was meant for me HE will make a way.

Stay tuned...

Fashion Passion

I will be attending 2 local shows this weekend and am very excited to see the collections at each show. I am glad to see more things like this going on in the city of Syracuse because our young people need something fun like this.

It is discouraging after a while to not have anywhere nice to go unless you want to go out to eat or go to a bar. Thankfully my group Fashionmodeling315 is going currently holding casting calls for models. It will be a hot shoot indeed. I will post some pictures on www.oubon.com however disk space is limited so I will probably post here first!

Saturday fashion show is at Bishop Ludden HighSchool and Sunday's show is at Artistry.. See ya
